Have you ever felt like a potential donor was so close to giving you a donation, but for some reason they didn’t? In many instances, the reason this happens is because the person telling the story focused more heavily on the programs of the organization and not on the needs the nonprofit fills in the community.

It’s important to show the value of your nonprofit in the community and the needs that it fills, verses the actual programs you provide. Programs have a place in your story, but they shouldn’t be the central focus. Ultimately, people don’t really care about HOW you take care of the needs, they just want to see that you are taking care of the needs in their community.
